Thirsty Palette Review!

I knew I had to purchase one of either the Lunar Beauty or Jeffree Star Cosmetics palettes and the verdict was Jeffree's. Thank you for all of your opinions about the two products!

From the collection, I only liked the palette and the accessories. I did buy the palette from BeautyBay which only had the lipsticks and palette on the website. I will be purchasing the accessories later on from Jeffree's website and review them here.

But for now, I should review the eyeshadow palette first!

Here are some swatches!

'Parched' is not that pigmented on the arm as it blends into the natural colour of my skin. I believe this would have been a good transition colour with any look. Though I did use 'Quench' as I wanted to try and make a somewhat sunset eye.

It is very common for summer for people to wear yellow, so I put it on by itself first. The colours are buildable but it depends on how much work you want to put into an one eyeshadow colour look.

I completed the rest of look based from the yellow transition.

I blended 'Taste Buds' into the yellow. The yellow was a bit of a hard case to blend colour into it, so I had to go back and forth to get the right blending.

I then used 'Biiiitch' in the crease. For me, this colour blended into nothing so I placed 'Drizzle' in to deepen the crease. For some reason, the pan did have some kickback and I used it just as much as the other colours. Its not an issue but it is just a curiousity.

I then attempted to use the glitters... These glitters were horrible to use as they got everywhere and the glitter would just get everywhere all over my face! I used 'Snatched' on the lid' and 'Divine' in the inner corner. These glitters are not brush friendly, or wet brush friendly. The best way to apply would be through using your fingers. I reckon that 'Divine' would actually be a pretty highlight especially for festival season as it is very glittery and it would match my skin tone. Though some of the darker skin tones would match the goldy shimmers in the palette. These are very glittery and you should use with caution.

I decided to use more colour by putting 'Submerge' on the lower lash line. I cannot put eyeshadow on my lower lash line but I am trying. For me, the colour needed to be placed on repeatedly to be able to achieve the level of pigmentation that is shown on promotional photos.

Overall, it is a good palette, however, I can see room for improvement. Jeffree Star, if you are reading this, slow down on your palette launches as the quality have decreased dramatically from your 'Blood Sugar' palette which I love!

I would actually wouldn't mind buying Lunar Beauty's 'Life's a Drag' palette to compare to this palette. What are your thoughts?

Next Week, I'll be doing my third Project Pan. Will I pan something? You'll just have to wait and see!

Happy Summer,

Emily x
