Wanting to find cheap textbooks is a dream! I once had to pay nearly $260 for a textbook and using these tips, I found one that gave me nearly a $200 saving and with free shipping. Some of these tips are for Australian students only as I am also an Australian student. I will find another blog which gives US tips so if you are a student there, you can find the relevant sources.

Only Buy the Mandatory Textbooks

Some lecturers believe you should buy the recommended textbooks as they believe those who want to know more about the topic can read them. But I feel they are unnecessary for the class work, maybe helpful with assignments and exams but I believe if you want to do extremely well, buy them, but remember they are not necessary. I have only bought one textbook that was recommended as my unit had four readings for the book so I felt necessary to buy it.

Find Second Hand Books.

In Australia, StudentVIP is a really good way of buying a second hand textbooks from other who want to make money from the site. I have only sold one textbook on the site and it is easy to use. The only downside is not having a safe way of purchasing the book from people you don't know. But some people forget that they have posted and have not taken it down, so finding the one that will reply is tricky. To get access to the website, click here.

Booko

OMG! This website is actually amazing! I have saved so much money by using this site. They compare prices from other websites to give you the best price. As well as comparing to brand new and used books. This is where I have saved $200 on a $260 book which is amazing and recently, I bought 2 books and I saved over $100 combined. One of them was $150 and the other was $40 I think. Having these options are amazing. This is also an Australian site. You can access this website, when you click here.

I know with my University has a second hand bookstore with their textbook store which is convenient but, for me, I found these textbooks more expensive than what I have found myself on StudentVIP and Booko.

If there is any other tips, let me know and I will put them to the test when I buy my second trimester textbooks!

Next Week, I will be showing a more personal side of myself where I show you my Haul from my trip Home!

Happy Studying,

Emily x
