Catching Up with Old Friends

On the weekend, I met with some of my old school friends. I graduated about three years ago and have not really kept in contact with them other than being friends with them on Facebook.

I was one of the first people to RSVP to the event on Facebook. Now looking at the list, there are only two other old students are going to the event, one of them is my ex that I dated for about six months in Year 11, which will make for an interesting time. I am hoping though that some people from my class will turn up to the event so I can not feel so awkward being in the same room as some one I haven't talked to in over a year.

The Night

I was very nervous going to the event as I had no clue what to expect. I first met the media and communications rep at my old school, who organised the event for tonight. Me and her talked for half an hour before my old PDHPE (Sports) teacher turned up and it was good to catch up with him as he taught me in years 11 & 12. Ten minutes later boys from the year below turned up for the free food and booze which was a good selling point. It was very nice to talk about different thinks like where we all were in our lives to the best drinking games we have played. It was weird when the staff asked what drink you'd like, especially with an alcoholic drink. I still kind of find it funny, especially being an adult now and it was appropriate for such an event.

The last half hour was very awkward for myself. I am an awkward person, especially when seeing people from my past. My ex turned up with his girlfriend and boy... I had packed it on! It was kind of interesting seeing where he was and were I was showed how different we both turned out.

Other than that, the night was very entertaining and it was fun to catch up with those that turned up. I was a little annoyed at the amount of people that were there, but those who did come, thank you for such an amazing night and I am looking forward to the next event!
